Providing industry support for the DTT platform
HD LCN Consultation 8 May 2013
Digital UK has published a consultation on proposals for allocating channel numbers to HD services in the Freeview electronic programme guide.
Services are integrated onto the Freeview platform and allocated a channel number (LCN) and then published to Freeview EPGs.
Engineering work to release spectrum will be required at more than 400 transmission sites during 2013. Viewers of transmitters undergoing channel changes will need to retune their Digital Terrestrial TV (DTT) receivers after the Clearance event to retain all existing services.
